Cookie notice

We do not use cookies to track you, advertise to you, or build a profile of you. This page explains the little we do use, and how to object.

Last updated: 17 August 2026

1. The short version

Browsing this website sets no cookies. There are no advertising trackers, no social media pixels, and no cross-site profiling. We count page views in aggregate so we can see which pages are useful, and that measurement works without cookies and without identifying you.

If you would rather not be counted at all, use the switch in section 4. It takes effect immediately.

2. What we actually use

Everything this site stores on your device, in full. Only the first two apply to ordinary visitors, and neither is set unless you choose something.

NameTypePurposeExpires
va-disableLocal storageSet only if you object to analytics. Records your objection so we can honour it on later visits.Until you clear it
walmer-analytics-noticeLocal storageSet when you dismiss the analytics notice, so it does not reappear on every page.Until you clear it
walmer_admin_sessionCookieSigned sign-in session for Walmer staff using the content dashboard. Never set for public visitors.8 hours

Our analytics provider, Vercel, identifies a visit by deriving a temporary hash from the incoming request server-side. Nothing is written to your device for this, the hash cannot be used to follow you to another website, and it is discarded within 24 hours. See Vercel’s privacy documentation.

4. Your right to object

The statistical exception applies only while you have a simple way to opt out. This is it. Switching this off stops analytics events being sent from your browser straight away, on this and every other page.

Aggregate analytics

Your visits are counted anonymously.

Your choice is remembered in this browser only, using a single stored value named va-disable. It holds no identifier and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser storage resets it.

You can also block analytics with browser settings, private browsing, or an extension. We do not attempt to detect or work around any of those, and doing so has no effect on how the site works for you.

5. What we do not do

  • No advertising or remarketing cookies, and no ad networks.
  • No social media tracking pixels. Our social links are plain links.
  • No sale or sharing of browsing data. It never leaves our analytics provider in a form connected to you.
  • No cross-site tracking, and no attempt to identify you from your browsing.
  • No embedded third-party media, fonts or scripts that would call out to another company as the page loads. Fonts are served from this site.

6. Changes

If we ever add something that does require consent, we will ask for it properly before it runs, and update this page first. Any change is reflected in the “last updated” date at the top.
